The Game Awards 2024 have come to a close, and what a night it was! The event not only honored the best games and developers of the past year but also unveiled exciting new trailers that left fans buzzing with anticipation. The competition for Game of the Year was fierce, featuring six incredible titles. In the end, Astro Bot rose to the top, taking home the prestigious award along with three additional wins.
In the independent categories, Balatro won Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game, and Best Mobile Game. The Best VR/AR Game award went to Batman: Arkham Shadow, while Best Action Game was claimed by Black Myth: Wukong. Astro Bot also won Best Action/Adventure Game, and Metaphor: ReFantazio was awarded Best RPG. The Best Fighting Game award went to Tekken 8, while Astro Bot took home the prize for Best Family Game. Frostpunk 2 won Best Sim/Strategy Game, and EA Sports FC 25 was awarded Best Sports/Racing Game. Best Multiplayer Game went to Helldivers 2, while Fallout was honored with Best Adaptation. The Most Anticipated Game award was given to Grand Theft Auto VI, and CaseOh was recognized as Content Creator of the Year. League of Legends won Best Esports Game, Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) was named Best Esports Athlete, and T1 won Best Esports Team.
