Numbers 18:12 “I give you all the finest"🍽️

In the Book of Numbers, specifically in Numbers 18:12, we find a profound statement regarding the offerings made by the Israelites.

This verse emphasizes that God grants the finest portions of oil, wine, and grain—specifically, those that the Israelites present as firstfruits—to the priests.

This allocation is significant as it delineates the manner in which the offerings are distributed, underscoring the idea that the priests are entrusted with receiving the best of what the people bring forth.

Matthew 17:21

14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”

17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”

20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Deuteronomy 14:26 "And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

To provide further clarity, the verse articulates: "All the best of the oil, all the best of the new wine and the grain, their firstfruits which they offer to the Lord, I have given them to you." This passage signifies the importance of the priests being recipients of the foremost offerings, reflecting the dedication and reverence that the people show toward God through their gifts. It conveys a message of gratitude and respect, illustrating how the community acknowledges the spiritual leadership of the priests by ensuring they receive the highest quality of the harvest as a sacred tribute to the divine.

In essence, this practice not only reinforces the role of the priests in the spiritual life of the Israelites but also establishes a tradition of honoring God with the very best of one's resources.

Numbers 18:12 "I give you all the finest. All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the LORD, them have I given thee."
