St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Red Carpet For Hope Event

I normally bring you guys news on the latest products or new SFX looks, but today I wanted to talk about a topic that is very personal to me. Recently I had an opportunity to attend St. Jude's Red Carpet for Hope. It was an elegant and amazing event held in the Trump National Doral located in Miami Fl. This event was taking place in three locations simultaneously; here in Miami, in Chicago, and in Minneapolis.  The place was filled with people who had attended to help raise money and awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I loved seeing all the joyous faces of the people in attendance, many of whom were cancer survivors themselves. Seeing them with nothing but bliss in their eyes filled me up with so much happiness. I truly experienced the Red Carpet treatment while I attended. Members of the press were treated to cocktails and a delicious dinner. I Even got a chance to see S.t. Jude patient Hailey from Delray Beach, perform  one of her favorite songs, Miley Cyrus’ hit “When I Look At You.”  There were also various auctions taking place, both silent and live, to raise money for Cancer research. Attendees raised more than $76,000 to help fund the lifesaving work of St. Jude, where no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food. Also, there was an exclusion presentation of the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, which was the first time being hosted in Miami. The celebrities were so inspiring at this event guys!  Charlie Lapson, Hollywood celebrity designer helped accessorize the celebrities with his very own jewelry, and Renowned hair stylist Gabriel Samra also donated his time to help patient families get “Red Carpet Ready” by doing both their hair and makeup. I love seeing stars give back. Some other Celebrities who walked the red carpet included Felicia Mercado, Gabriel Valenzuela, Leslie Grace, Alberto Sardinas, Isaac Reyes, Adriana Lavat and Dra. Nancy Alvarez. The event was emceed by International actress Sissi Fleitas and Telemundo’s very own Raul Gonzalez, who also walked the red carpet.

In addition to the presenting sponsor, Municipio de Fomento, local sponsors included: International Dermatology, Charlie Lapson Collection, Anthony R. Abraham Foundation, Alejandro Plaza, Dark Horse, Selecta Magazine, MillerCoors, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Botran Aged Rum, and it Espresso Lounge. These types of events always make me feel so delighted knowing there are so many wonderful people in the world wanting to help these children overcome this disease. Cancer is a disease that affects anyone at any given moment, and I for one have always tried to help raise awareness for it. I even receive text alerts from St. Jude's regarding some of their patients. I always wanted to volunteer at the hospital and have fun with the children there, and one day paint the children's faces and show them how cool special FX makeup is.  Bringing a smile to these children faces, and knowing that theres hope. Thats one of my dream goals for this year. All in all, I had a truly amazing time at the red carpet event and would love to attend again in the future. I'll keep you posted for more events hosted by S.t. Jude, and hopefully i'll see all of you.

  5. As a Cancer survivor, I absolutely love everything that St. Jude does for these children. I attend many events and fundraisers. It truly warms my heart knowing that these children are being handled with such a degree of care. I believe without St. Jude's many of these children would have very few options in terms of aid. I will continue to support and donate to this fantastic organization. This was a wonderful post, and I can't wait to read about the next even you attend.
