Weekly TV Recap

My weekly television recap where I talk about all the shows, I watch throughout the week. Even though many of my favorite shows didn't air this week because of the holiday, this still was a great week of television. 

 Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and the Legends of Tomorrow, all team up in this epic four episode crossover event: Heroes vs. Aliens. The crossover event begins this Monday, November 28th with Supergirl. I can't wait for this team up. It's kind of like having a DCTV movie. I know this event will be fantastic, and hopefully, this is just the beginning.

This episode of Supergirl was just as intense as the last, and I have so many questions. Last we left Supergirl; Mon-EL was captured by Cadmus. Mon-EL's attempts to escape were easily thwarted by the real Hank who is now Cyborg Superman. Kara goes to save Mon-EL, but she is captured and forced to solar flare. Solar flare is an incredibly powerful ability that expels all the yellow sun's energy out of a Kryptonian's body. Solar flaring leaves her powerless, and in this weakened state samples of her blood were taken. In addition to Guardian, there is a new vigilante in the city. Unlike Guardian, this new vigilante has no problem killing criminals. The news and police are both attributing these murders to Guardian.Guardian and Winn team up and track down this evil vigilante and clear Guardian's name. Since Winn has spilled the secret to Alex, how long will it take for Kara to learn that James is Guardian? Also, J'onn is hallucinating. The white martian blood in his system is playing tricks with his mind. M'gann's blood is causing J'onn to turn into a white martian. How is J'onn going to reverse these effects, and how will he and M'gann ever repair their friendship.

So that's how fast the God of the Speed Force can travel. Savitar, the God of the Speed Force, treated Barry like a ragdoll this week. Clearly, Savitar will be the last speedster Barry will ever face because he's just too powerful. Thankfully, Barry had the help of Caitlin and Cisco to prevent Savitar from inflicting further damage to Barry. Caitlin's Killer Frost persona has taken over, and she goes to the CCPD to find one of Savitar's followers. Caitlin doesn't get any information, so she decides to kidnap Julian to help her track down Savitar. Joe feels helpless that Wally is still in the cocoon, and he decides to break him out. Wally emerges out of the cocoon with the powers of a speedster, but he can't control himself. Joe and Barry go to find him and sedate him. Luckily, Wally is fine and has speed just like Barry. Wally can't wait to suit up and join Barry. The team still wants to test Wally's abilities before he goes up against some metahumans. We lastly find out that Julian is unwillingly working with Savitar.

Scream Queens does a great job at giving you information and making you think you have all the answers then in the next few minutes you have no idea what's happening. This week the hospital has decided to run a blood drive competition. The employee who collects the most blood samples gets a free trip. Chanel wants to get away, so she collects samples from herself and all of the Chanels. Unfortunately, for Chanel she has tested positive for every STD. So, not only are all her blood samples thrown away, but Dr. Holt is now very hesitant to sleep with her. All this talk about blood and blood types gives Zayday a very good idea. The Green Meanie is someone who works in the hospital, and everyone gave a blood sample. So, if an employee's blood type matches the blood type of the mother of the missing baby's, then we will know who the killer is. Cassidy is the Green Meanie, but he says he is not the only one killing people. He gives Nurse Hoffel her a Green Meanie outfit so she can get revenge on the Chanels for killing her sister last season. There are now three Green Meanies on the loose how will anyone survive.

Schrodinger's cat is going to be a major motif for this season. I had no clue that science lesson from episode one would be so relevant. Stiles is gone he's been erased from reality, but his friends are feeling his absence. Lydia has visions of the night the Ghost Riders came for Stiles, Scott has a dream that takes him to the spot he turned into a werewolf, and Mila chains herself up to restrain her from losing control. All memories that are linked to Stiles. While all this is going on more people are taken by the Ghost Riders. Ghost Riders are invisible to everyone except for Corey. Corey has chameleon-like powers and when he become invisible he can see things that aren't there. I guess his powers aren't as simple as they seem. They are able to find proof from one of the taken students. Clearly, Corey is the key to finding Stiles, but just how will that happen. Something that stood out to me this episode was Deaton saying the Ghost Riders usually appear during times of war. Does this mean something major is about to happen next?

It's filler time for Dragon Ball Super. Filler arcs are a time in the show between the major story arcs where there're no major villains, and no major fighting occurs. Now, this may sound bad to most, but filler episodes are jam-packed with information. All these upcoming episodes are going to be random. Anything can happen, and from past experience, I can tell you things are going to get weird. These are the episodes to stay tuned for because they can reveal crucial details about characters, their backstories, and what's going to happen next. This episode Goku was trying to retrieve the Dragon Balls to revive King Kai. As soon as Goku summons, Shenron everyone comes out of nowhere trying to get their wish granted. Shenron can grant up to three wishes, and one wish was already used up. Before Goku can tell Shenron his wish, his son Gohan appears with his sick daughter. Goku allows Gohan to ask Shenron to cure Pan of her illness. Now with one wish left Shenron has little time left before he must disappear. Unfortunately for King Kai, Goku runs out of time, and Shenron vanishes. King Kai must wait another year before Shenron can revive him.

Before I get started, I have to talk about the epic four episode crossover event Heroes vs. Aliens. Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and the Legends of Tomorrow, all team up to stop the alien threat. I have so many questions about how any of this happens. Has Supergirl's earth finally joined the Arrowverse? We'll see very soon the crossover event begins Monday, November 28th with Supergirl. 

I enjoyed this episode of Supergirl. The episode was full of action and emotion. For the last few episodes, Alex has been struggling with how to accept that she is a lesbian. Alex finally tells Supergirl she's a lesbian. Supergirl takes the news well and starts to think that she hasn't always listened to what's going on in her sister's life. Supergirl continues to try to train Mon-EL in hopes that he will use his powers to protect the world. Mon-EL wants to use his powers for many different reasons. Supergirl and Martain Manhunter tried to go up against an alien parasite. The parasite absorbs the powers of others and leaves them in critical condition. With Supergirl and Martain Manhunter down the only defenses left in the city are Mon-EL and the new hero Guardian.

This episode of the Flash focused more on team flash than the metahuman threat that was wreaking havoc on the city. Wally is still getting visions of his flashpoint life because of Alchemy. Wally wants to be kid flash so bad at this point; it feels like he's ready to do anything. While all of this is going on, Caitlyn finally tells the team she is a metahuman. This is a shock to the rest of the team, and Caitlyn feels like she has no choice, she has to leave the team. Of course, no one on the team feels that's a good option. For now, they will deal with her powers, and try to figure out a way to prevent her from becoming killer frost. The team comes up with a plan to track down Alchemy by using Wally as bait. Wally is drawn to Alchemy, and finding him was a simple task. When Barry finds Alchemy, he also discovers that there is a new threat that only he can see, another speedster who is much faster than he is.

Scream Queens is such a funny show I love it. If you've never watched this show before you definitely should. It is a comedy version of American Horror Story. It mixes elements of classic 80s slasher movies with comedy. The most recent episode was no different. The Chanels have decided to invite more Chanels into the group. The Chanel #6-8 are bait, so the "Green Meanie"  won't kill Chanel #1, 3, and 5. Chanel #1 released Hester from her cell and allows her to live in the house. Everyone thinks this is crazy because Hester tried to kill them all last season, but Chanel feels the best way to defend themselves from a crazy person is to have a crazy person on their side. Makes sense right. Hester knows who the killer is, but she is refusing to tell anyone because that's not how things work. At the same time, Zayday and Chanel #5 are trying to track down the son of the man they believe the Green Meanie. At the end of the episode, we find out that Doctor Cassidy is the son.

OMG!!! I'm so happy one of my favorite shows is back again. It's the final season of Teen Wolf, and I'm both excited and sad. I was blown away by the season premiere. Scott and Stiles are still trying their best to protect the town from evil doers. It isn't too long for them to come to the realization that the town might not need them anymore. Of course, them saying this guarantees something big is about to happen next. Supernatural threats have always been a part of the show, but this time the pack is up against something they've never faced before.  The Ghost Riders have erased Stiles from existence. No one remembers who he is and I have no clue how he will come back. The pack has to do everything they can to try and remember.

This episode was all about perspective. Team Arrow 2.0 is up against the murderous vigilante. The vigilante is killing criminals in the city, and most of Team Arrow don't disagree with what he's doing. Oliver has changed his ways he no longer kills people who have failed his city. The team feels that Oliver is a bit hypocritical. Is getting rid of bad people such a bad thing. I enjoyed the flashbacks during this episode. Oliver learns that he's not working on the good side while in Russia. Bratva has been using Oliver because of his skills and Oliver now must figure out what to do next. In the present day, Team Arrow decides to rob a bank to lure out the vigilante. The vigilante proves to be a tough opponent for them and evades capture. We find out some shocking information. Artemis is a traitor. Will the team figure out she's working with Prometheus? Not only does Prometheus know Green Arrow is Oliver Queen, but he also has a person on the inside that can give him all the information he needs. I wonder what the connection between Prometheus and Artemis is.

South Park is just killing it this year. Every episode this season has been phenomenal. This week we saw the new president-elect Mr. Garrison undergo a Darth Vader-esque transformation. He is using his new found power on people who have wronged him in the past. Mr.Garrison slowly realizes that his new job comes with enormous responsibilities. The member berries have used their power to rig the election. They will slowly start to take over the world unless someone stops him. Denmark's Troll Tracer program created a ton chaos. The US government has agreed to give the country's worst trolls to halt the spread of the program. Cartman is concerned that his past comments online will be seen by his girlfriend. So, the only logical response for this is moving to Mars. Cartman goes to find Elon Musk (who voiced himself in the episode) to try to get on a shuttle to Mars.

The gang has found themselves back in the old west. They run into an old friend in need of some much-needed help. Jonah Hex was about to be killed by a group of bandits working for Quentin Turnbull. Turnbull wants to create his country within the United States. Turnbull will use the dwarf star to destroy a critical railway that connects the East and West; this will make it near impossible for the US Army to send troops to the West. The team splits up into groups. Sara and Jonah go after Turnbull, Amaya and Mick destroy the mine where the dwarf star's found, and the rest of the team work together to stop the train. With the dwarf star now in the hands of the legends, Ray plans to rebuild his suit and makes Nate a suit with the remains of his destroyed suit. Amaya decides to teach Mick to control his impulsive behavior. Sara tells the team that they need to return to 2016 to help their friends.

Damon has gone way too far this time. Killing Tyler was already bad enough, but now he's threatening to kill his former friends and his brother. Damon arrived during Tyler's funeral and showed all the people he used to care about all the freshly dug graves for them. Turning his humanity off and being psychically linked to Sybil has turned him back into the Damon we used to know all the way back in the first season of the show. Even though Damon has reverted to his monstrous ways deep down, he has feelings of guilt for what he did. Damon's guilt means he 's not entirely under her spell. Sybil sees this as a weakness in Damon something she will surely correct in the future. Tyler's death left a lot of unfinished business, and in his will, he tells Matt to finish where he left off. Matt now has pictures and information about the two sirens Sybil and Seline. Matt makes a shocking discovery that one of the sirens has been babysitting Alaric and Caroline's twins.

This most recent episode of Dragon Ball Super marks the end of the Goku Black saga. Goku Black has been an incredible arc with many twists and turns. Goku and Vegeta proved once again that they are among the elite of universe 7. I'm interested to see where things go next. Now there are two Omni-kings in the universe how will that affect things.This saga also marks a rare moment in the series where Vegeta is stronger than Goku. I'm sure Vegeta will continue his training with Whis, which means we might be seeing Vegeta challenging Beerus soon. I'm a little disappointed though I wanted to see future trunks to stick around a bit longer, I guess having a touching moment with his father attempting to punch him was good enough. I can't wait to see the next opponent that decides to take on the fighters. Rumors on the next arc suggest we will see some universe 6 familiar faces. 

Legendary Executive Producer Peter Engel Interview

I got a chance to Interview Legendary Executive Producer Peter Engel.

"Peter Engel, one of the most prolific producers in television with more than 1,000 episodes produced under his banner, single-handedly created the teen sitcom with Saved By The Bell, which he executive produced through all of its many incarnations, and which led to his many other teen series, including California Dreams, Hang Time, City Guys, and USA High. As if defining and conquering the teen arena wasn't enough, Peter produced the iconic Last Comic Standing, enabling the discovery of an entirely new, fresh generation of comedians."

This week's episode was definitely action packed. J'onn J'onzz finds out that the other remaining Martian in the universe is fighting in an underground alien fight club. Of course, Supergirl and the DEO try to put a stop to it which turns out to be much harder than they thought. While that's going on Mon-El is trying his best to get outside for some fresh air. He tricks Winn into taking him out for a while night of drinking. Getting a powerful alien around a bunch of drunk people what could go wrong. The big reveal at the end of the episode showed us that M'gann M'orzz is n't who she says she is. M'gann is a white martian. White Martians enslaved and killed all of the green Martians that were living on Mars. Also, white Martians are incredibly powerful, so the heroes are lucky she's friendly. I guess we know why she refused to bond with J'onn now. When will J'onn find out M'gann's secret? How will he react to this revelation? Will the DEO trust Mon-El enough to let him outside alone soon? All things I hope to find out soon! Make sure to check out next week's episode looks like Jimmy Olsen is tired of sitting on the sidelines.

This episode was monstrous. Barry and the team were up against an opponent larger than anything he's ever faced. While Barry and the team are trying to find the source of the monster, an important member of the team was away. Caitlin was visiting her mother and trying to figure out how to cure her of her metahuman abilities. Things don't go as planned; we get a glimpse of her evil side when she freezes a scientist's arm. Barry comes to the realization that Julian (a fellow crime scene investigator at the police department) hates all metahumans. Julian feels obsolete in a world where a man can run at the speed of light. Barry and Julian decide to work together to determine who is controlling the monster. We have discovered the new Professor Wells is not a Professor at all. He is a novelist with knowledge of all known metahumans from his Earth. Working together Barry and Julian figure out the monster is just a hologram created by a kid who is tired of being bullied. The Flash stops Julian from accidentally shooting the boy; this helps to change Julian's mind about metahumans. Will this Barry and Julian bromance continue? Will Caitlin Snow become the villain Killer Frost? Will Joe finally go on a date with the DA? We'll find out next time on The Flash!....and as Hipster Wells would say...

Atlanta has been such an incredible series. Every episode this season has been absolutely phenomenal. Each episode has a dozen quotable lines. Atlanta has figured out the perfect way to make the characters feel real. They are put in these moments that are both normal and abnormal. In a crazy world where there is a rapper with an invisible car; everything still feels grounded. Earn,Van, Paper Boi, and Darius are all such dynamic characters and in just ten short episodes it feels like they're apart of the viewers lives. Unfortunately production on the next season of Atlanta will be delayed until late 2017, so until then we'll just have to wait. With all ten episodes finished Atlanta came and went faster than a shady club owner...




Team Arrow 2.0 has arrived. With Diggle back by Oliver's side, it feels like old times. The team comes together for an important mission rescuing Wild Dog. The team successfully gets Wild Dog from Church, but there was one small problem. Wild Dog endured hours of torture, and because of this, he told Church who Oliver is. Oliver must stop Church for good tonight or risk the world knowing who he truly. Thankfully Diggle knows just the man to call in a situation like this "The Human Target." The human target takes three bullets in the chest while wearing a mask that makes him look identical to Oliver. With the Mayor in critical condition and the Arrow still running around the city no one would suspect a thing. Team Arrow 2.0 launch an assault on Church which ends in his capture. Church's failure costs him his life. Who is this new masked archer in the city? How long will Team Arrow 2.0 be around? Is this the last time we'll see the human target? And will any superhero team have a secret base?

Looks like things at Real World Seattle: Bad Blood are starting to heat up. Mike seems like he enjoys stirring the pot between the many cast members; while at the same time trying to get into Jordan's bed. The more Mike tries, the harder things seem to get (no pun intended). Theo still refuses to speak to his cousin Kassius. It looks like its going to take a lot to get these two to start talking to one another. All of the cast members are trying to bond with one another by going out for a girls and guys night out. The girls had way more fun together, but my only question was where was Tyara? Does she hate Kim that much that she couldn't stand to be around her for a few hours in a club? I guess it's not going to be any better living in the same house.

The episode of Legends of Tomorrow was intense. The team is transported back to 1863 the civil war. A virus from the future has infected the Confederate soldiers turning them into zombies. Not only that a Union soldier died on his way to retrieve some vital information about the enemies' next move. The soldier was African American, so Jefferson decided to take his place. Sounds like an easy mission until you remember it's 1863 and he's in the south. Jefferson comes face to face with several slave owners, and get treated like a slave. Jefferson is waiting to be rescued by Vixen. Sara and Nate are trying to help the Union soldiers fight off the zombie threat. Back on the ship Ray and Stein are attempting to cure Mick who was infected by the future virus. Vixen finally rescues Jefferson, and they free all of the slaves on the plantation, and unfortunately all of the slave owners were ripped apart by the zombies. Sara comes up with the idea of using dynamite to kill all of the zombies. Nate detonates the dynamite, and thanks to his steel skin he was protected from the blast. Ray discover the solution to reverse the future virus. It's good to see Ray is still a useful member of the team even without his suit.

Vampire Diaries has entered the final season. Things can't get any worst for our favorite vampires. Damon and Enzo are both being used by the evil Sybil. She's invading their minds and forcing them both to do her bidding. It's not enough that Damon and Enzo are under her control, she wants them to both be mindless, emotionless machines. Damon has already turned his humanity off, so all that's left is Enzo. Sybil looks into Enzo's mind and sees he loves Bonnie, and of course, she finds a way to use this against him. She orders Damon to find and murder Bonnie; if Enzo doesn't turn his humanity off.

Sybil forces the two to fight to the death. Luckily Alaric arrives just in time to stop Sybil from controlling the two vampires. It looks like Sybil still has some psychic connection left with Damon and with his humanity turned off there's no telling what he may do next.

Dragon Ball Super "Future" Trunks saga has been incredible. We got to see the awesome father-son Galick Gun from Trunks and Vegeta. As soon as I think Goku and Vegeta are the two strongest beings in the universe, someone comes along to challenge them. The fusion Zamasu has proved to be a much greater threat than anything they have ever faced. Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks are trying their best to hold Zamasu off, but he is simply too powerful for them. The fighters know what they have to do, but I don't think the hot-headed Saiyan prince will want to do it.
