♡Soft Apple Pie Cheesecake Crumb Buns♡

 


🍂 Apple Pie Filling
1 cup (125g) peeled and diced apples (I used one medium apple) 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 2 tbsp butter (salted or unsalted) 1 tbsp water 1/2 tbsp cornstarch 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional) ♡ Cook over medium heat until thickens (about 5 minutes) 🍂 Crumble 1/3 cup (42g) all-purpose flour 1/4 cup (50g) sugar 1 tbsp brown sugar 3 tbsp (42g) melted butter (salted or unsalted) ♡ Refrigerate while making everything else 🍂 Cheesecake Filling 8oz softened cream cheese 1/4 cup (50g) sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 tbsp heavy cream 🍂 Dough 1 cup (240g) warm water 1 tbsp active dry yeast 2 tbsp sugar 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour ♡ Mix and let rest for 10 minutes 1 and 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour 1/3 cup (72g) vegetable oil 2 tsp salt 1/4 cup (50g) sugar ♡ Knead dough for about 5-8 minutes ♡ If your dough is too sticky, add 1 tbsp of flour at a time until it comes together ♡ After kneading, lightly oil your hands to gather the dough instead of adding more flour :) 🍂 Egg Wash 1 egg 2 tbsp water Bake at 375F (190C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden 📝 Notes 1. Divide dough into 6 balls then transfer to a baking sheet 2. Use a 1/3 measuring cup to make an indent in each bun 3. Brush egg wash on each bun 4. Place about 2 tbsp of the cream cheese mixture in each bun (use it all between the buns) 5. Place about 1 tbsp of the apple pie mixture on top of the cream cheese mixture 6. Sprinkle the crumble on each bun
